Talbot couldn't create the same serum from the journal because Vigo's journal had some of these pages torn out, so he had to work with what he had on hand and created many different types of it. The serum Talbot created allowed him to travel to different areas in the realm that no survivors or killers can go, he also was also able to get himself out of the void. He was able to capture killers and he experimented on them because he needed to see what the serum do (he didn't harm survivors till he mutated into a feral monster).
When he was experimenting with the serum on a dead rat, it came back to life for a short time and bite him, which caused him to be addicted to the serum. Wanting to escape, he decided to follow what the journal say and start creating serum from the flowers. He learned from the journal that he can escape using the flowers and that the Entity undergoes a purge that happen once a year and during this time the Entity is infested with blight (it become weak) and the flowers only show up during this time. The Entity took him as a survivor originally and he was later able to find Vigo's hidden lab while running away from a killer and in it he found Vigo journal. He is very unstable now and see the serum as his only way to survive in the realm. He came face to face with the Entity at some point and used the serum to escape from it. Especially since the last we see of the alchemist is him looking like he’s just given up and injecting himself to only turn into a monster.īlight was using the serum in attempt to escape the realm. I might be looking into this too much, but I’ve seen some stuff on the lore from merely game mechanics so I figured maybe there was something here. What was he trying to get out of these compounds and why is time scarce in a world were death is temporary, and is wibbly wobbly timey wimey? I also wondered more about because there’s an iridescent add on for the blight where it says: ”Time is scarce. More so with how the alchemist experiment on the killers, but I don’t understand what he was trying to get out of it since they seem to just become more deranged creatures. My question is, as suggested by the title, why and what was the blight serum made for? I know the alchemist is pre-blight from what little I’ve seen, but it makes me wonder what the hell he was trying to do with it. I’m only somewhat new into looking into the DBD lore so if this has been answered already, I’ve learned something new. Something that has made me wonder after seeing the new Halloween event skins and such. Couldn’t figure out how to put two flairs on, sorry.
